The skate park which has just enjoyed it’s one year anniversary with the jamiversary where hundreds of teens from the local region enjoyed competitions , live bands, trade stalls and trophies for best performances.
If you’re son or daughter is in need of entertaining or just wants to meet new friends whilst self catering in Scarborough, the £500,000 skate park entertains rollerbladers, bmxer’s, skateboarders and kids who just want to sit and watch and chat.
The man who helped build the skate park with Scarborough Borough Council Steve Asquith said.
‘You only have to look around the park and see the amount of people using it to know how successful Hairy Bobs is.’
‘Feedback that we get from rollerbladers, skateboarders and bmxer’s has all been positive stuff and there are a lot of features that aren’t in any other parks in the country.’ ~ ‘There are a lot of features that aren’t in any other parks in the country the feed back we’ve had from bladders and boarders has been immense.’~ We’ve had amazing feedback from bladders, boarders and bmxer’s they say there are loads of features that aren’t anywhere else in the country.’}
The facilities are also great for tourists so if you’re self catering in Scarborough or staying in a hotel come on down and bring the children to have a skate or ride on one of the best skate parks Yorkshire has to offer.’
A huge success amongst locals and tourists was the jamiversary which took place on the 22nd of August and had skateboarders and bladers vying for prizes of £100.
Connor Robshaw 13 of Seamer Road loves the park and finds it a great place to try out new skills.
When I first started using the park I was no where near as good as what I am now, I like the fact there’s lots of jumps and the bowl is great I can really test my skills on it.
